Yazers was conceptualised in Singapore on 03 March 2013, when a team of six passionate individuals came together to sing and have fun!

Since then, we have grown into a 20+ member Choir and A Cappella seeking to bring a positive change to the world through singing.

We believe that music can be the universal language capable of transcending boundaries and differences.

Our
usic
​We appreciate the beauty of all kinds of music, hence we are open to experimenting various musical genres.
​
Our arrangements are usually 4 part harmonies SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) with vocal percussion for A Cappella pieces.
​
We train in a variety of methods and challenge ourselves to consistently develop musically.
​

Our rainings
​We hold our fun-filled trainings every Sunday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm at Pang Clan Association Building near Aljunied / Paya Lebar MRT.
​
Our trainings are mainly to prepare for upcoming performances and competitions... but aside from that, to also bond, make friends and have a good time!

Albert Tay
​
​
Award-winning composer, conductor, educator Albert TAY is a global citizen and “playaholic” for whom “work” is play! When not composing, the thinker-innovator can be found guest-conducting, giving lectures, masterclasses and adjudicating choral/singing competitions around the world.
​
Albert is the founding director of the Kodaly Academy of Music (Singapore) (KAM) and Artistic Director of pop and jazz choir YAZERS and Schola Cantorum Singapore Ltd. a non-profit choir collective.
​
He is the first Singaporean musician to receive the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit, a state decoration conferred by the President of Hungary in 2021 for his efforts in promoting classical music and the Kodaly Concept in Asia.

Our chievements

Our choir has entered only one competition so far, which was at the Bali International Choir Festival 2019 where we were awarded 4 Gold medals, 2 category champions and nominated as one of the Grand Prix finalist
